To prime or not to prime.....

So, I don't normally use a primer underneath my foundation as I felt it was just too many layers, and some primers also state not to use with moisturiser as well, and as I like to use my moisturiser everyday I was put off the idea for a while. Some time ago on a random whim I bought the Laura Mercier primer in oil free. I love the oil free tinted moisturiser and the concealer so I thought maybe I should give this a try. I bought it and went off the idea quickly so it sat in my drawer unused and lonely.

So as I'm now back to toying with the idea of a primer I thought I'd bring it back out to play and have a go. I've been using it for the past couple of days with my Nars Sheer Glow and I think I like. I think I can see some difference in the lasting power of my foundation and I'm sure it hydrates my skin a bit more than just my moisturiser (I use both as it says you can). It's fairly lightweight and seems to smooth over any open pores. We shall have to see how I get along over the next few weeks and I'm also slightly worried I will break out, but for now, I say prime.

  1. Im constantly toying with to prime or not to prime too. I first bought the L'oreal studio one for 'dull skin' but to be honest, I didn't see much difference when I used it.

I now occasionaly use GOSH Velvet Primer. I think I use it solely because it makes my skin feel so smooth! however, im also worried about breaking out but so far, so good.
